Cristiano Ronaldo interview after Barcelona match Champions League 03 may 2011

"This was Mission Impossible IV," Ronaldo told reporters after the match.

“We knew that this was going to happen. We're used to living with these things. They took away our chance to reach the final in the first-leg at the Bernabeu. Here, no, here it was just the same thing.

"There are lots of things together. What happened at the Bernabeu, what happened today, these are things to think about. Barcelona have a great team but there's something behind it. It was hard to play with 10-men after our red card against Barcelona, and it was hard to play with the goal disallowed today.

"[Gerard] Pique touched me and I fell on to [Javier] Mascherano. He wasn't like this at Liverpool: he learned the cheats of Barcelona.

"The dressing room is extremely sad," Ronaldo added. "It's very difficult to play with these setbacks."

Cristiano Ronaldo interview after Barcelona match Champions League

"I wish I had the chance to face a team of 10; it is very difficult to turn a 2-0 score around away from home, but anything can happen in football"

Cristiano Ronaldo did not hide his frustration after the defeat against Barcelona.

"I don't understand. It is very difficult to play in such circumstances. We had a strategy. It was a 0-0 game and Kaka was warming up so we would attack more in the last 20 minutes. We weren't playing well. but we were playing for a 0-0. This has happened in the last four years. Barcelona have power, a lot of power. The same thing happens every year. It happened against Chelsea, Inter Milan... and now against Real Madrid. I don't know how this can be fixed."

"I am a professional footballer and I like to enjoy myself when I play. But these situations suck all the joy out of you. We're sad because it's the same every year. Mourinho is right. Referees know football. I wish I had the chance to face a team of 10. It is very different to face a team of 11 and a team of 10, especially against Barcelona."

"It is very difficult to turn a 2-0 score around away from home, but anything can happen in football. We will fight in Barcelona."

“This is an important trophy and we are enjoying it.”

Ronaldo further praised his compatriot Jose Mourinho, who has won his first major competition as coach of Madrid in his maiden season in Spain.

“Mourinho has made a very positive impact,” said the 26-year-old. “He has helped us a lot and injected us with positive energy, which shows [on the pitch].

"Barcelona played a very good game, but this is the way it goes. The one who scores, wins."

Cristiano Ronaldo is in great form before The El Clasicos

The Portuguese player has scored in his last three games and tallies 40 goals in all three competitions

Cristiano Ronaldo is in great form now that the Real Madrid-Barcelona Clasico in La Liga draws nearer (Saturday 16 April, 22:00 CET). The Portuguese forward has scored in the last three games he's played in, netting the strike that gave Real Madrid the victory against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane, which sealed Real Madrid's pass to the UCL semifinals. Ronaldo has tallied 40 goals in all three competitions this season, and is two short of reaching his personal record of the 2007/08 season.

Ronaldo's streak began on 5 April with a volley that sealed the victory against the English side in the first leg at the Bernabeu. He also scored the last strike in the Whites' 3-0 win over Athletic Bilbao at San Mames.

By scoring against Barcelona on Saturday, Cristiano would equal the best goal-scoring streaks he had earlier this season, between 3-23 October and 22 December-13 January. Ronaldo has previously has scored in five consecutive games with the Whites on two occasions, between 29 August-23 September 2009 and 21 February-14 March 2010).

Cristiano Ronaldo: "I like to work with the best, and I consider Mourinho to be the best coach in the world"

Cristiano Ronaldo sat down with Antena 3. The player said the team must fight to win the league title and never believe the championship is lost.

"I play for the best club in the world and I have the best tem-mates in the world. We mustn't think the league is lost. We have to believe it's difficult to win, but also possible. We'll have to fight to the end. Barcelona are very strong, but so are we. We are going to fight."

"I think we are going to win the Copa del Rey final. We have to think we will; it would be better to stay home if we didn't. Barcelona are a great team, but we will do everything we can to win the Copa."

"The thought of not winning a title this year does not enter my mind. It could happen, but I'd rather not think about it. I'm optimistic and I'm convinced we'll achieve it by the end of the season."

"I consider Mourinho to be the best coach in the world. The titles he's won show how experienced he is. He is a natural born winner and everything is easier with him."

"My son has changed my life. I've got character and my own personality, but those who know me know how I really am. I'm always ready to listen to other people's opinion."
