Florentino Perez bans players from going out at night

Real Madrid chairman Florentino Perez has made a special book with rules for players of his club. One of the rules is that players are not allowed to go out during the night.

Other rules are less spectacular. The players of Madrid should always be open to fans and they should respect the club and show their commitment to Real at all times.

Avoiding dangerous situations and co-operation with the press are other rules that Perez put up for his players.

The strict regime of the club isn’t that remarkable considering the height of the salaries and the age of the players.

But in Spain, people doubt if a player like Cristiano Ronaldo will follow the rules. The Portugese superstar has already been spotted several times in the Spanish nightlife with his new friends Sergio Ramos and Fernando Gago.

Real Madrid's new president is Florentino Perez

Real Madrid confirmed last night that Florentino Pérez has returned as club president. Pérez, who held the post for six highly eventful years from 2000 to 2006, will officially be sworn in today.

Pérez's previous spell in charge of Real was characterised by the famous 'galácticos' policy which saw Madrid bring in the likes of Luis Figo, Zinedine Zidane, David Beckham and Ronaldo for massive fees.

Although Perez has kept his cards close to his chest regarding new players and who will coach the team next season, there has been speculation in the Spanish media over the past few months regarding who will be brought in if the election favourite returned to power.

"We are working towards and we will work to create a spectacular project, and that is to make Real Madrid the best club in the world once more," said Perez during a press conference a fortnight ago. "A club like Real Madrid needs to have several of the best players in the world and even though I can't discuss names today, we have a spectacular project on the sporting side."

Two of Madrid's long-term targets Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo are again reportedly near the top of Pérez's wanted list, along with Frenchman Franck Ribéry.

Spanish players are also believed to be on Pérez's agenda, even though during his previous spell only one of his 17 signings was a home-grown player - Sergio Ramos, who joined from Sevilla.

If the reports turn out to be true though, then the likes of Valencia quartet Villa, David Silva, Raul Albiol and Juan Mata, as well as Almeria striker Alvaro Negredo and Liverpool's Xabi Alonso could be among the Spanish signings gracing Real next season.

"I'm staying" says Wenger

Arsene Wenger will continue as Arsenal manager and spurn the advances of Spanish giants Real Madrid, according to quotes from the Frenchman.

Wenger is understood to be Madrid presidential candidate Florentino Perez's first choice to become the club's new manager next season should he be elected this summer.

News of Perez's interest coincided with growing frustration amongst Arsenal fans about Wenger's management; the club are without a trophy in four years and some are losing patience with the 59-year-old.

Last week Wenger was involved in a heated exchange at a shareholders meeting where his players were accused of lacking backbone and recent signing Mikael Silvestre was branded ''geriatric''.

On Tuesday chairman Peter Hill-Wood described those comments as ''out of order'' and added that he expected Wenger to at least see out his current contract, which expires in 2011.

Despite previously describing Real's advances as ''strongly interesting'' Wenger is quoted in Wednesday's Daily Mail insisting that he has no plans to quit the Emirates.

''There's nothing to worry about, it's not an issue for me,'' he told the paper. ''I'm staying here. If that changes I will let you know, but don't worry about that. It's not an issue.''

Sergio Ramos:Juande Ramos improved us

Sergio Ramos has talked about the new coach Juande Ramos who takes 8 win in a row.

“We have improved on a lot of areas on the pitch such as your timing, the way we press, how we join attack and defence and cover for each other, and we understand how to come together in the centre of the field,” he was quoted as saying by AS.

“Juande knows how to organise a team. He took a risk by making a lot of changes, such as our playing system, but it has favoured us,” the defender added.
The 22-year-old Euro 2008 winner then went on to clear the air about the slight quarrel he had with then-Spain coach, Luis Aragones during the European Championships last summer in Austria-Switzerland.

“That argument served us well because it united us even more because he [Aragones] knew that he could get more out of me. I’m actually grateful for it.

“He also did the same with Fernando Torres and we both ended up performing better,” he revealed.

Finally, Sergio reiterated his desire to see Florentino Perez return to seize control of the ‘White House’.
“He has already demonstrated his qualities as a president. I know him personally and he’s a great person.
“As I said before, I will always appreciate what he did for me when I was still at Sevilla and the way he put his faith in me when I was a nobody,” he concluded.
